Special Presentation by Jeffrey M. Schwartz, M.D.

Join us as the Philosophy Department proudly presents Jeffrey M. Schwartz, M.D. of the UCLA School of Medicine for a special presentation, Mindfulness: What is it and why is it relevant to treating OCD?  Dr. Schwartz is a research psychiatrist who is recognized as a leader in the fields of neuroplasticity and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).  Aside from receiving much media coverage for his work in developing a new treatment for OCD along with Lewis Baxter, Dr. Schwartz has also been featured in Discover and was a Hollywood consultant to Leonardo Di Caprio during the filming of The Aviator.  This event will be held Thursday April, 17, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm in Gold Rooms B & C of the Oakland Center.  Food and beverages will be provided and this event is free and open to all OU students.
